AZ-104 · Microsoft

Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate

The Azure exam about running an estate day to day, rather than describing what Azure is.

The operational counterpart to AZ-900: running Azure rather than describing it. It covers identity and governance, storage, compute, virtual networking, and the monitoring and maintenance work that keeps them healthy - the day-to-day administration an Azure estate actually needs. It is the natural next step once AZ-900 has established the fundamentals. Please note: this practice bank covers the exam's multiple-choice content. The real AZ-104 exam also includes hands-on lab tasks, hotspot and drag-and-drop question formats that are not replicated here.

Who sits this exam

Administrators who already have a subscription to look after - identities, storage accounts, VMs, virtual networks and the alerting around them. AZ-900 is the better starting point if Azure is still new to you; this one assumes the portal is already part of the job.

What it covers

Each domain below is weighted the way the real exam weights it, and scored separately, so you can see which one is holding the total down.

  1. 01Manage Azure Identities and Governance
  2. 02Implement and Manage Storage
  3. 03Deploy and Manage Azure Compute Resources
  4. 04Implement and Manage Virtual Networking
  5. 05Monitor and Maintain Azure Resources

How you will practise

Review
Practice with answers explained immediately.
Section
Review one domain at a time.
Timed
A timed set with results at the end.
Final
The full exam simulation — every question, timed.

What passing proves

That you can run an Azure estate rather than explain one: govern identities and subscriptions, place and secure storage, keep compute sized and patched, connect networks that actually route, and see a problem in the monitoring before a user reports it.
