Microsoft's foundational cloud certification, and broader than its name suggests.
Microsoft's foundational certification, and broader than the name suggests. Only part of it is about Azure services; the rest is cloud concepts, and then the management and governance side - cost tools, service level agreements, compliance, and the lifecycle of a subscription. It is the exam most Azure candidates start with, and the one where people who already use the portal daily tend to lose marks. Knowing how to create a resource is not the same as knowing how it is billed, which tool governs it, or what Microsoft commits to in writing. Three domains, a 70% pass mark, and Microsoft does not publish a fixed price in dollars - your cost depends on where you sit it. Every answer here is explained, and your score is broken down by domain rather than handed over as one number, so you know which third is short before you book.
Who sits this exam
The Azure counterpart to Cloud Practitioner — useful to anyone in a Microsoft shop who needs the concepts, and noticeably heavier on governance, compliance and cost management than the AWS foundational exam.
