AWS's entry-level certification, and the only one that assumes no engineering background.
The exam most people sit first, and the one with the widest audience. It assumes no engineering background and asks whether you understand what the cloud actually changes - the shared responsibility model, the service families, how AWS bills, where support ends. That breadth is the trap. Four domains, and Billing, Pricing and Support is the one furthest from most people's day job - easy to leave until last, and worth as much as any other. A 72% pass mark is less forgiving than it sounds when most of your wrong answers come from a single domain. Sitting the exam costs $100. Sitting it twice costs $200. This bank scores you per domain before you book, so a weak area shows up while it is still free to fix - and the first twenty questions cost nothing at all.
Who sits this exam
Anyone who has to talk about AWS credibly without necessarily building on it — account managers, product and finance people, ops staff who have inherited a cloud bill, and engineers who want the vocabulary before attempting the associate exams.
