DOP-C02 · AWS

AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional

The second professional-level AWS exam, and the operations counterpart to SAP-C02's architecture path.

The second professional-level AWS certification, and the one that completes the track alongside SAP-C02. SAP-C02 is the architecture path; this is the DevOps path. If you run the pipelines, the monitoring and the incident response rather than drawing the diagrams, this is your exam. It is a judgement exam, not a recall exam. Two of the four options are usually both technically correct, and only one of them fits the constraints the scenario actually stated - the deployment window, the rollback requirement, the compliance boundary, the cost ceiling. Reading the constraint carefully is most of the skill being tested. Note the pass mark: 75%, higher than the 72% the associate exams use. The margin is thinner than people expect coming from SAA-C03 or DVA-C02. Like the real exam, this bank mixes single-answer questions with multiple-select ones.

Who sits this exam

Engineers who own the pipelines, the monitoring and the pager rather than the diagrams. It is a judgement exam: two of the four options are usually both workable, and only one fits the constraint the scenario actually stated - the deployment window, the rollback requirement, the compliance boundary. SOA-C03 or DVA-C02 is the better starting point if this is your first AWS exam.

How you will practise

Review
Practice with answers explained immediately.
Section
Review one domain at a time.
Timed
A timed set with results at the end.
Final
The full exam simulation — every question, timed.

What passing proves

That you can run software into production on AWS safely and repeatedly: build once and promote the same artifact, deploy behind gates that can roll themselves back, instrument the result well enough to notice a regression before a customer does, and respond to what you find without doing it by hand a second time.
