SOA-C03 · AWS
AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer Associate
The operations counterpart to Solutions Architect: keeping running systems healthy rather than designing new ones.
The operations counterpart to Solutions Architect: keeping running systems healthy rather than designing new ones. Monitoring and remediation, reliability and business continuity, deployment and automation, security, and networking - five domains, which is one more than SAA-C03 and a wider spread to keep covered at once. It suits people who already carry a pager. If your week involves alarms, runbooks, deployment pipelines and post-incident cleanup, the scenarios will feel familiar; if it does not, this is the harder of the two associate exams to prepare for on reading alone. A 72% pass mark across five domains, and a $150 exam fee. The per-domain scoring here matters more on this exam than on most - with five areas in play, an overall percentage tells you almost nothing about where you are actually losing marks.
Who sits this exam
People who carry a pager for AWS workloads. If your day involves alarms, runbooks, deployment pipelines and post-incident cleanup, this is the exam that matches the job.

What passing proves
That you can instrument a workload, spot a failure before a customer does, remediate it, and automate the deployment so the same fix never needs doing twice.
